Every building in your town
Your town earns gold, shards and renown while you are away. It sits on a 5 by 5 grid of plots, and buildings that touch each other can earn more, so where you build matters as much as what you build.
| Building | First one costs | What it does | Neighbour bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lord’s Manor | Free | Your home and the heart of the town. Each upgrade earns +1 gold per hour. | None |
| Market Hall | 250 gold | Traders fill the hall. Earns +2 gold per hour for each level. | Each touching Cottage adds +1 gold per hour. |
| Card Atelier | 400 gold | Artists refine card magic. Earns 1 shard every 5 hours for each level. | A touching Fountain adds another 0.2 shards per hour. |
| Grand Warehouse | 300 gold | Gives every building 10% more storage for each level. | Each touching building adds another 2% storage. |
| Mystic Fountain | 800 gold | Enchanted water condenses into shards. Earns 2 shards every 5 hours for each level. | Touching Markets and Cottages earn +1 gold per hour. |
| Lantern Cottage | 120 gold | A cheap home for your townsfolk. Earns +1 gold per hour for each level. | Every 2 other touching Cottages add +1 gold per hour. |
| Training Yard | 600 gold | Young duelists practise all day. Earns +1 renown per hour for each level. | Each touching Cottage adds +1 renown per hour. |
Prices climb with every copy
Each extra copy of the same building costs 1.5 times the one before. Upgrades double in price with each level, so a level 5 building is a real project. The Training Yard is limited to one per town.
Storage: harvest before it fills
Buildings stop earning when their storage is full, so a town that is never harvested earns nothing. Higher levels hold more hours of income:
| Building level | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hours of storage | 24 | 30 | 36 | 48 | 72 |
A Grand Warehouse adds 10% storage to every building for each of its levels, and each building touching it adds another 2%, up to double storage in all.
Town ranks
Your rank comes from adding up the levels of all your buildings.
| Rank | Building levels needed |
|---|---|
| Hamlet | 0 |
| Village | 6 |
| Market Town | 12 |
| City | 20 |
| Capital | 32 |
| Royal Seat | 50 |
| Realm of Legend | 80 |
A strong first layout
- Start with a Lantern Cottage. It is the cheapest income in the game at 120 gold.
- Build a Market Hall touching it. Each touching Cottage adds +1 gold per hour.
- Keep adding Cottages around the Market, because every 2 other touching Cottages add +1 gold per hour to a Cottage too.
- Add a Card Atelier for shards, then a Mystic Fountain touching it for more.
- Bring in a Grand Warehouse when you cannot harvest every day.
Visitors
Now and then a visitor walks into town. Greet them for a small reward. Some town goals and weekly missions count your visitors and harvests, so it pays to say hello.
